The Case of the Wayward Wanderer

It is well known amongst those who believe in magic that stories have power. Mysterious time travelers known as Wanderers use this power to influence the lives of the normal folk all over the world. When a Wanderer tells a story, it will come true. These benevolent beings walk through time, stopping in places of strife and using their storytelling powers to readjust real-life stories that are edging toward disaster.
Unfortunately, one of these Wanderers slipped over to the Dark Side and has not only been telling stories that increase catastrophic events, but has also been kidnapping other Wanderers so no one can stop his dastardly plan. He's been so successful at this strategy, that there is just one Wanderer left, and he's gone into hiding. Your challenge is to follow the clues that The Last Storyteller has left for you
up and down the time stream. Can you stop the Wayward Wanderer and save the Last Storyteller?

This Story Hunt is 1 mile long, and begins somewhere near the Fiddler's Green Shops on Hopmeadow Street (you'll receive directions to the first stop when you confirm your ticket). The Hunt will last about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on how long you choose to stop and eat.

The Case of the Secret Spellbindery

The Grimoire, or spellbook, is a wizard's most valuable possession. Not only does it describe the finer points of complicated enchantments, but for some very powerful warlocks, the Grimoire may also serve as a repository for magical spirits as well.

While ordinary books are created in a publishing house, a Grimoire can only be created in a Spellbindery. And if a malevolent wizard happened to establish a clandestine magical press for the sole purpose of turning out spellbooks infused with unpleasant (nay, downright sinister) spirits, well... it would be incumbent upon the honorable and virtuous magicians of the area to uncover this secret workshop and perhaps even duel the disreputable overlords to return said Spellbindery to the production of dignified and respectable magic.
Can you locate the Secret Spellbindery and release it from the grip of the corrupt magicians?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are Story Hunts appropriate for all ages?
Yes, Story Hunts are a great activity for adults and children, families, couples and groups of friends!
The tales that you'll follow while on our hunts are suitable for detectives of any age, and we find that children ages 8 and up enjoy solving the clues and can follow the storyline. Younger children can certainly play alongside their parents and older siblings, and a "short version" of the storyline is also available when a simplified narrative is preferred. All the clues and puzzles are designed for intermediate level players, and extra hints are available for beginning players.

How long are Story Hunts?
Story Hunt routes are about 1 mile long. You'll be stopping at about a dozen locations along the way, either to find a clue, solve a puzzle, or pick up a food item. Depending on how long you spend at each stop, and how long you choose to sit and enjoy your picnic lunch, your adventure will last between 1.5 and 2 hours.

What should I bring?
Bring your smartphone and your comfy walking shoes! Other optional items are a notebook and pen to keep track of clues (or you can do this in your phone's Notes app), extra cash in case you see anything else you'd like to buy along the way, and a picnic blanket (there are benches at each picnic location, but there are also shady trees to sit under if you prefer.)

Who should purchase a Child's Ticket?
Anyone under 12 who would prefer a smaller, plainer meal with a bottle of juice, as opposed to a larger,
more flavorful meal with a fancier drink.

Who should purchase a Just Desserts Ticket?
Anyone of any age who would like to play the hunting game without having to purchase an entire lunch. This ticket includes a large cupcake and your choice of drink. Don't forget, the price also includes an afternoon of entertainment!

Are there restrooms along the Story Hunt routes?
Yes. There are restrooms at the beginning of your route, near your parking location,
and at each food stop along your way.

What if I have food allergies?
We are happy to accommodate allergies and special diets. Let us know ahead of time what you can and cannot eat, and we'll make sure there's something special waiting for you when you arrive for your Hunt.

What if I can't figure out a clue or get lost?
There are special buttons on our website that you can press during your Hunt that will show you extra clues,
and a map of your route if you need them.

Can I purchase a ticket and play my hunt on the same day?
Sorry, no. We need to give a count of players to our food vendors 48 hours in advance of each hunt, so they can prepare enough of their special items for you! The latest you can purchase a ticket and still use it that weekend is Thursday at 5pm. Tickets purchased on Fridays or Saturdays must be used on the NEXT weekend (7 days in the future).

Can I purchase a ticket for Wayward Wanderer then switch it for Secret Spellbindery?
Yes. Just let us know!

Are refunds available?
Yes, your ticket can be 100% refunded at any time BEFORE you confirm your Hunt date.

What happens if I confirm my hunt, then can't make it?
