How to Make Teacup Candles

Updated: May 21

We made these charming candles for our Alice in Wonderland Midnight Dinner. They served as both centerpieces and gifts for our guests. We'll show you how to make them at home!

What You Will Need:

1. Candle wicks

2. Super glue

3. Chopsticks or fork

4. Scented wax melts (one package per cup)

5. Tea cups

6. Microwave-safe glass bowl

7. Oven mitts or towel

8. Knife

9. Cutting board

The first step is to glue the wicks to the bottom of the cups. This keeps the wick in place and centered when we pour in the wax. A trick we use to help keep the wick centered even more is to wrap the extra wick around a chopstick and balance the chopstick over the top of the cup.

This was our Berry Cheesecake scented wax

Next, cut the wax melts into cubes and throw in a glass bowl. We put our bowl in the microwave for 3 minutes, but your time may very, so see what works best for you. When the wax is all melted, grab the bowl out of the microwave with your oven mitts or towel and pour into one of your teacups.

This is what it will look like when you first pour it in (chopstick not included)

This is one that had been sitting out for a while

All that is left to do it wait for the wax to cool, cut the wicks to size, and sprinkle some glitter on the top!

Ta-Da! Ready to go
