It's been quite a year at The Storyteller's Cottage! The New Year is here and what a perfect time it is to reflect on all of the incredible adventures we had in 2018. We have made thousands of new friends at our vintage events, mystery rooms, workshops, social media and folks just wandering in to check us out. Here is a look back at our favorite happenings over the last 12 months.
Ivory Tower Holiday Soiree: A Live Murder Mystery
The house was filled with clever sleuths who joined us for a festive night that ended in a surprise! Don't worry...the criminal was found and brought to justice!

Vintage Halloween Masquerade Ball
Guests joined us for themed food and drink dressed in their masks and costumes for a fun and spooky night out.
Back to School at Hogwarts
Dozens of local young wizards and witches came dressed in their house colors for themed workshops and magic classes! It was such a great success that we decided to turn it into a monthly club!
Helga Visits Europe!
Helga snuck into owner Lisa's luggage for a fabulous European adventure! Helga took beautiful photos of herself in Paris and Venic enjoying authentic cuisine, and taking in the sights and culture.
INKLING is published!
The first issue of our literary magazine is born! Creative Director and artist, Heather Murray, and Advertising and PR Director, Alanna Hammond, joined forces to create this beautiful publication. Check out the first issue

Jazz Supper Club and Kid's Hogwarts House Party
Our first date night event! Adults enjoyed live jazz downstairs in our steampunk library while the kids had fun upstairs in our magical common room playing games.
"Downton Abbey" Edwardian Night Out"
Guests came dressed in their finest to enjoy an immersive night in our victorian themed rooms. The atmosphere was perfect.
"Nancy Drew" Mystery Challenge and Tea Party
Guest came with their thinking caps on and immersed themselves in the world of the clever Nancy Drew! When the mystery was solved, we celebrated with an old fashioned tea party with our vintage tea cups.
A Month Of Winter Workshops
While we waited for spring we enjoyed a month full of writing workshops led by talented local authors. Writers from all over CT from beginner to advanced came ready to learn and share!
Mystery Room Super Sleuths
All month long, families and friends came to solve our three mystery rooms. Some made it just in time, some needed the help of our game masters, but they all had one thing in common: everyone had a blast!
It's been a fun filled year of literary adventures! We are beyond thankful to all who have visited, joined and immersed themselves in our events, followed us on social media and shared our mission. Here is to a memorable 2018, and we are looking forward to a fun, creative and successful 2019!
